FEBRUARY, 2010:

While it is entertaining to talk about new innovative golf equipment, Tiger's rise and fall, and how great you will play this year since reading the newest Golf Digest article, I would like to mention a very important word: SERVICE.  Restaurants, Hotels, Retailers and Golf Courses are all part of the SERVICE industry.  I think every single manager/owner of one of these businesses that would look you in the eye and tell you "We give great Customer Service", but do they really know what that means and do they really give it?

By Dictionary.com's definition, Customer Service is: assistance and other resources that a company provides to the people who buy or use its products or services - pretty lackluster definition isn't it?  We all have choices of where to eat, where to buy gas and a soda, who will fix our vehicle, where to golf- the list is endless.  How do we decide where to spend our hard earned money? Quality and price are very important factors, but both of those factors combined only make up 21% of our decision to continue to support a business.  The other 69% is decided by SERVICE!  The friendly "Hello", the recognition upon returning, the prompt attention to your request, the quick resolution of an issue, and a hearty "Thank You" is what we all desire and deserve.  Don't get me wrong, quality and price gets us in the door but SERVICE keeps us coming back.  A wise man once told me, "It costs nothing to smile and say thank you"- I couldn't agree more!

I would like to share my personal definition of SERVICE:

Providing the customer with a pleasant and memorable experience

It truly is a broad statement, but it can be applied to all areas and situations in our business from green speed to pace of play.  From room amenities to wedding dinners.  From remembering a customer's name to resolution of a complaint- I could go on and on.

I want everyone to know that we are truly thankful when you choose Deer Valley, and our goal is to provide you with   a pleasant and memorable experience.  Hope to see you soon!

JANUARY, 2010:

The winter seems to drag on, and on, and on.  I often wonder how January and February seem to last longer than May, June, July and August combined.  There are signs, however, that golf season is approaching.  The days are getting longer......well, the days are getting longer.

I must say I am very excited about the 2010 golf season.  Much work was done on improving the course this past fall including re-vamped tee boxes (#7 back, #11 middle, #14 forward and #17 forward), sprinkler heads on all 27 holes have been measured and will have yardages on them to the front-middle-back of all greens, a new pumphouse has been built to allow us better irrigation through the hot dry summer.

Deer Valley is founded on providing affordable golf, an excellent value, a memorable experience and great service.  If you are interested in learning about our specials and receiving great deals through e-mail, simply create a user profile on our website right here.  When you do you will automatically be added to our e-mail list and receive specials right in your e-mail.  Please add deervalleylodgeandgolf@deervalleylodgewi.com to your approved sender list to receive these specials.  More than ever people are looking for value for their hard earned dollar and golf doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg to enjoy, save some of that hard earned money!  We hope to see you soon!
