Welcome To The
Deer Valley Blog Page
Where did 2011 go? It seems like yesterday we were looking out the window and hoping for an early spring, well here we are again. Many people I have talked with agree that the 2011 golf season flew by faster than any in memory. Could it be that we started it later this year? When I was younger my grandfather always said the years tend to get shorter as we got older, maybe that's it? 2011 was an fun, challenging and rewarding year at Deer Valley. League play remained strong with over 240 weekly players. Outing play was also solid and we are proud to be a partner with Peoples Community bank and Design Homes, Inc in the Deer Valley Open which raised over $6400 for The Barneveld Scholarship Fund. Many players who hadn't visited us in awhile came out and experienced the new Valley Course for the first time and left very impressed, and Deer Valley Lodge & Golf hosted a record number of stay and play rounds in 2011. We look forward to 2012 and have continued to work to make the course better and more enjoyable. This fall we have planted numerous new trees, enlarged landing areas on holes 3 and 4 of the Valley Course, eliminated areas of long grass to improve playability, leveled cart path areas, and improved course peripherals including the enhancement of our natural prairies. Most importantly we want to thank you for playing Deer Valley Golf Course and helping to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that can be enjoyed by all.
Warmly,
Todd A. King PGA Professional/ GM Deer Valley Lodge & Golf
